The Cuker and Stern Graduate String Quartet program is made possible thanks to the support of the Cuker/Stern Scholarship Fund.
Founded in Baltimore in 2016, Bergamot Quartet is dedicated to interpreting the music of living composers. The group’s recent activities include regular features on Baltimore’s Evolution Contemporary Music Series and residencies at Towson University, the Young Artist Development Series with El Paso Pro Musica, and the Banff Center for the Arts. They have collaborated with various artists including flutist Claire Chase, percussionist Terry Sweeney, and Maryland Institute College of Art student and curator, Hannah Davis.
Founded in 1999 by Pavlina Dokovska, chair of the Mannes Piano department, the Mannes Sounds Festival presents more than 20 concerts annually performed by young artists from Mannes School of Music, the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music and the School of Drama as well as master classes and lectures by distinguished faculty members and renowned guest artists. It is one of the outstanding components of the Mannes performance program. The events are held at various prestigious concert venues and cultural institutions throughout New York City.
